Design Philosophy
I grew up with a Mom who would paint a new room in our house every month and would constantly change furniture arrangements. Before I knew it I was in my room rearranging furniture once a month and constantly painting my walls and finding new bed comforters etc. It was then that I realized I was developing a passion to design rooms in my home and make frequent trips to Ikea, what seemed to be my new favorite store. It's the way you can show your style through design and have multiple inspirations that create something that I love about design.

Design Process Poster
This is a poster of the process work it took me to get to my bench, the Torrent. As you can see in the poster I took multiple steps to get to where the bench is now, and many more steps as well that aren't shown. I think the poster turned out ok, but definatley needs some improvements! I really enjoy working in InDesign and know how to work it pretty well.

Sketchbook Refelction
This reflection is pretty self-explanatory because it is written in the picture, but pretty much for my sketchbook I was asked to write a reflection on how I felt about the whole project and any particular sketches. I was also asked to use my hand-drafted lettering which I wish I had spent more time writing this and making my letters look better.

Sketchbook Cover
This is my cover to my sketchbook, consisting of sketches that I have drawn throughout the Spring semester. I chose to make this my cover instead of drawing something because I wanted to show something more about me through this cover. I wanted to show that I travel alot and am an adventerous person.

Resume
This resume is an current up to date that I created through InDesign and that I hope will be visually interesting to employers who looks at it. I included my logo to show how involved I am trying to be with my career goals.

Logo
This logo was created through my initials: c, r, and g. I at first had them as capitals but I really liked the flow a lot better when they were lower case. I am really happy the way this turned out and I plan to use it often. Below is a second option of this logo:

Napkin
I did this sketch super quick! And know even if I spent a couple more minutes on it, it would look a lot better! This sektch though was kind of difficult because of the napking making it hard to kind of draw and it taught me to learn how to draw and work with what I have around my surrondings. Again my persepective is so off and I still need to work on that.
Mind Map
This isn't necessarily a sketch but it was more of an activity to get our minds flowing and I wish I emptied my mind a little more and wrote down more of what was at the top of mind to get more things down on the mind map.
Room Corner
I'm not at all pleased with this sketch and wish I took more time to work on it because I know I could do better then this. The perspective is way to high up and I need to learn more of straight on views and draw what is at my eye level.
Cross Hatch Fruit Still Life
I was also pleased with this sketch as well and I learned to look carefully at what I was drawing and be careful about drawing the shape correctly. It was a fairly difficult task for me to get the same shape or fairly the same shape but I was happy with the final outcome.
Keys
This was my first sketch of the semester and I was actually really pleased with the way that it had turned out because I'm not the best drawr but I plan to hopefully improve my skills!
Chair Views
This sketch I did fairly quick in my room and what I realized was that I had messed on the front view completley! It's suppose to be a front view but it's more kind of a perspective view but not quite! I like this sketch because I was able to acutually look at a chair for what it is.

Geometric Pattern
This was the first thing I had ever created with Photoshop. I’m only half way pleased with it. I wish that I had worked more with deforming the pictures and making them a little bit cooler looking. I do like my color theme though and the way it turned out.
Quilt Pattern
This quilt was built from the textile pattern showed below and was created through Photoshop and InDesign. I was still getting use to Photoshop but I had used InDesign before in High school when I worked for the newspaper. I was really happy the way it turned out because in Photoshop I didn’t think that the pieces were connect as well as they did.

Textile Pattern
This pattern was created from my background heritage German and Norwegian. It was the second time ever working with Photoshop and I had some difficulties working the pieces to fit together once connected into a quilt. The outside borders are a part of my Norwegian heritage and the inside pieces are German.
